Take the time to meditate on this soul searching question.
Devotion to anything... shows. It is unmistakable. What is the problem with 21st century Christianity, that we have to hunt and peck to scrape up real evidences in people's lives, of this life changing, attitude transforming, "so great salvation" that they so adamantly say they possess? Why is it so hard to see the after effects of the work of the Holy Spirit of God, in someone's life? And, to see it lived for the whole of their Christian lifetime?
There are a lot of professors but fewer possessors.
It is easy to pray a prayer and profess Christ, but real Christians live Christ. It is not a temporary change of life for a few years of red hot service for God and then....poof......
it's over! They're gone! They've been offended or hurt by some event or person or they missed the pleasures they once enjoyed and decided to go back to them. This is not real Christianity in action. This is the works of fleshly thinking and living.
Truly devoted individuals have been born again, born over again...converted from what they once were. They’ve been changed, in every area of their life and thinking. They have willingly given themselves over to being led and controlled by a new Lord and Master. This is such an obvious change of living, that everyone around you knows it! It cannot be hidden.
Please do not insult the power of a Holy, Righteous God, by saying that salvation is a quiet, personal thing that is just between you and God. Romans 10:11 "For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Psalm 107:2 "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." Bible salvation is all about "change" and is meant to be seen and to affect others.
I have asked the hard questions of teen, single and married women, concerning their "brand" of Christianity and found that some have become very offended with my concerned questioning. Forgive me for just taking the Bible so literally. You see, when the Bible says, If any man be in Christ he is a new creature...", I just understood that to mean just what it is telling us! New is new! Not old anymore! Something has obviously got to change to make it new! What is that "something" that must change?
The very same verse in II Corinthians 5:17 says, “...old things are passed away..." GONE! And continuing to be gone every day we live! Why? We want them gone! That is part of that big transformation that took place under the Power of the Holy Spirit of God. Our very attitude toward our past sin is not the same any longer! A loathing of my sin took place the day I got saved. I don't see myself in the same way at all!
Why do we see so little devotion; that zealous, ardent attachment to, loyal affection to Christ and Christ-like living? The Spirit of genuine "devotion" is seen in Galatians 2:20,
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me."
This is the very essence of what it means to "live for Christ". You must first die to self and what self desires. What is this power that transforms one from the old person we once were, into the "new creature"?
It's the wonder working Power of God!
Philippians 2:13 "It is God that worketh in us, both to will and to do of HIS good pleasure."
Hebrews 4:12 "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Romans 6:2 “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Are you truly a born again, daughter of God? If you are not 100% certain of the answer to this question, it is time to search the scriptures diligently and find out. The answer will never be found in your own feelings about the matter. Your answer is found in your obedience to the Word of God.
John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye shall have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

This is a very good question. Precious truth is shared here.
I love it! Dianne
This reminds me of when someone gets married. They are not ashamed to tell others of thier new found love and devotion. They love to share the virtues of the one who holds their heart! So too, should be my devotion to my wonderful Lord! Thank you for asking these hard questions :) Diana
