Examine Your Heart

Hello dear ones....

It’s March! The month that we greet the much anticipated first day of Spring! Here in the North land, that is a really big deal! During the quieter, darker days of winter, many men and women often begin to entertain more inward thinking, than is normal. We tend to be less active; and depressing, discouraging thoughts can begin to slowly creep into a normally energetic, enthusiastic mind. All this can happen because of the longer duration of old man winter.

But things should be different for the Christian, whose mind is stayed (fixed) on thee. Isaiah 26:3 In these last days, we are seeing fewer professing Christians with a biblically disciplined mindset. Negative thoughts produce negative thinking about yourself and others. This inward, negative thinking is not going to produce happiness in you or nurture loving relationships with those around you.

We spend so much money on our outside; our hair, clothes and makeup, yet we spend so little time working on the hidden woman of the heart. What does she look like? What is her spirit like? How does she act and react? Luke 11:39 “And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.”

The God with whom we have to do, demands truth about the condition of our inward parts!

Make yourself willing....to look deep into the spirit of your mind. You might be surprised at what you find there.

Malachi 2:15 speaks to the marriage relationship and offers sound counsel for every woman willing to heed it. Simply put ---- “...take heed to your spirit...”.

Be willing to examine your inward part.

1. Am I allowing myself to be subject to examination?

Romans 13:1Let (allow) every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

~ It takes meekness in the spirit to submit yourself emotionally if you think you are right about something, and your husband is wrong. It takes meekness of spirit to show kindness and gentleness of spirit when you think you’ve been wronged by
Christians.

~ A woman with a true spirit of meekness, trusts God enough, to allow her soul to be
subject....in submission to, her higher authority!

2. Are you teachable?

Psalm 25:9The meek will he guide in judgment; and the meek will he teach his way.”

Some women are so unteachable that they develop an angry, argumentative, easily
provoked spirit. This kind of woman is easy to detect and notice. She may be “serving the Lord”, but she is serving from the mechanics and her spirit reeks of anger. She is moody, disagreeable and everything she does in serving, is done in a “let’s get this show on the road, I’ve got things to do” attitude.

This kind of woman is very difficult to get along with. She is very self focused and self centered. Life is all about her schedule, her struggles and her needs. You will see little concern for the hurts and needs of others outside of her own family. You cannot teach her anything that might be of help to her. She is not open to listening. She has already formed judgments and opinions that are guiding her emotions.

Psalm 55:21The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.”

The woman who lives in the spirit of “inward thinking”, does not have the spirit of meekness. She is not teachable and therefore, it will be very difficult for her husband, her pastor or any other Biblical authority, to help her.

Only a woman with a redeemed heart, bent toward meekness, can be taught and instructed.

Examine your inner woman.

This really spoke to me. When I let it sink in deep I found that there were some dark places in my heart. I dont want to read these things and stay the same. Thank you so much. Dianne
